Major Bath Components
• Main Metal Salts Tin salt (stannous pyrophosphate) + Cobalt salt (cobalt pyrophosphate). Standard alloy ratio is 75–80% Tin + 20–25% Cobalt by mass, forming stable Sn-Co intermetallic crystal phases.
• Complexing Agent Potassium Pyrophosphate: Acts as the core chelator to balance the large deposition potential difference between tin and cobalt ions. It stabilizes metal ion activity, prevents independent metal precipitation, and ensures co-deposition of uniform alloy grains.
• Buffer Agents PH stabilizers maintain working pH at 8.5–9.5, keeping the alkaline system stable without hydrolysis or bath turbidity during long operation.
• Special Brighteners & Grain Refiners Proprietary organic additive blends refine crystal structure, eliminate coarse grains, produce consistent gunmetal gloss, and prevent surface fogging or discoloration.
• Wetting Agents Low-foam surfactants improve surface wetting on complex shapes, eliminate pinholes and pitting, and ensure full coverage on recessed and edged areas.
Standard Operating Parameters
Temperature: 35–45°C | Current Density: 0.2–1.0 A/dm² | pH: 8.5–9.5 | Mild cathode agitation
